Description
Product Name: Ipamorelin Molecular Formula: C38H49N9O5 Molar Mass: ~711.85 g/mol Sequence: Aib-His-D-2-Nal-D-Phe-Lys-NH2
Product Overview Ipamorelin is a third-generation GHRP consisting of five amino acids. It was developed to address the off-target effects observed in earlier secretagogues like GHRP-6 and GHRP-2. While it possesses the potency to release growth hormone comparable to these earlier generations, Ipamorelin displays high selectivity for the somatotroph cells of the pituitary gland. It does not possess the lipogenic (appetite-stimulating) properties of ghrelin to the same extent as GHRP-6.
Mechanism of Action Ipamorelin functions through a targeted interaction with the ghrelin receptor:
1.Selective GHS-R1a Agonism: It binds to the growth hormone secretagogue receptor in the pituitary, triggering a signaling cascade that releases stored growth hormone.
2.Specific Release: Research demonstrates it releases GH selectively. Even at high saturation doses, it shows virtually no effect on Adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH/cortisol) or Prolactin levels.
3.Pulsatility: It induces a natural, physiological pulse of growth hormone (usually lasting ~3 hours), which is more effective for signal transduction than continuous elevation.
Research Applications Due to its high safety profile in animal models, Ipamorelin is a preferred candidate for research into:
-
Catabolic States: Counteracting protein catabolism (muscle breakdown) caused by chronic illness or corticosteroid use.
-
Bone Density: Studies observing the effects of pulsatile GH release on bone mineralization and longitudinal growth.
-
Gastric Motility: Investigating the treatment of postoperative ileus (bowel paralysis), as it accelerates gastric emptying (though less intensely than GHRP-6).
- Sleep Quality: Examining the relationship between GH pulses and the enhancement of Stage 4 (slow-wave) sleep.
Storage and Handling
-
Storage: Store lyophilized powder at 2-8°C. Protect from light.
-
Stability: Stable for 2 years when stored properly in lyophilized form. Reconstituted solution should be stored at 4°C and used within 3–4 weeks.
